- Self-control and emotional awareness
- Increased knowledge of social norms and expectations, as well as adaptive social competency
- Their feelings about their disability, independence, self-worth, and confidence
- Navigating systems and programs in order to be successful in their community and career path
- Preparation and assistance in obtaining training and job.
- Capacity building for seeking help in a community setting without the need for continuing formalized support
